Over the years the road has become my therapy; it’s been my way of dealing with MS and eating natural wholesome food has become my best medicine. Not only have I mastered how food choices can affect my energy levels, body composition, I continue to research and discover the wonders of natural nutrition. I love finding new healthy foods and experimenting with new recipes that I absolutely enjoy testing on my children. I am also absolutely fascinated to learn how food is intimately connected to our health, and how we can simply change the way we eat to improve it.

Cooking Demonstration – Cuisine et Passion
Chef Marc Miron has served the Rolling Stones—in three different places. He has prepared meals for royalty, a number of leaders of the free world and a room full of discerning international food critics. And when celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay needed to cater his book-launching event in Sydney, Australia, he called on Chef Marc Miron.
When Marc graduated from chef college in Ottawa, little did he realize that he was about to embark on a journey that would take him to some of the best restaurants in the world before bringing him home to the place he was born and raised.
For almost two decades, Marc ran restaurants for the world-renowned Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in places such as Nevis, West Indies; Sydney, Australia; Montreal; and Vancouver. He also spent five years running the kitchens for two Four Seasons resorts in Bali, Indonesia, where he started a cooking school that within one year, was listed as one of the top ten schools in the world by the Condé Nast magazine Women’s Journal.

Essential Oils – How and Why They Work
Essential oils are a big buzzword right now. It seems that every store we go into has a special “health” section of oils and that everyone’s an expert.
As a trusted Nutritionist, I have your best interests at heart. I’m fully trained in how and why essential oils work and will not steer you wrong because of something I read in a magazine or read on Facebook. My recommendations are based on science and fact.
When I chose essential oils to work with in my practice, it was because I was seeing results, often immediately and without the side effects that synthetic substances can have. I was hooked. My clients were using 2 drops of a plant substance, getting results, reducing discomforts, reducing stress, and staying on their nutrition plan long enough for lasting change to take place. That’s a WIN.

Our CrossFit Community is made up of people from all walks of life, of all fitness levels and abilities and you will find the atmosphere motivating, encouraging and friendly. Everybody knows each other by first name and we share a camaraderie more like that of a sporting team.
One of the first things you are likely to notice is that inside our premises you won’t see rows of treadmills, machines and mirror clad walls like your average modern franchise style gym. The CrossFit philosophy is simple, we exercise our bodies in the way they were designed to be used by employing functional, real life movements.
At CrossFit Fortis we train hard, probably harder than you have ever trained before and we work up a good old fashioned sweat. Each WOD (Workout of the Day) is varied in its exercises so you won’t get dissatisfied with day in day out repetitious routines.
Sitting: Our New Nemesis!
How much time do we spend sitting in a day? New research is showing negative effects of sitting too long on our health and body. Fortunately, we can all do something to make positive changes. It’s easy: sit less, move more! Decreasing prolonged sitting can be helped by using standing desks, getting up to get documents or supplies and standing during telephone conversations. Increasing movement within our day can be as easy as getting up more regularly, walking around and taking regular breaks to stretch. Stretching of the neck and back, as well as arms and legs is beneficial. A simple stretch program can be customized to your daily routine.
