We believe we have the most incredible lineup of vendors participating at the 2013 Expo. In fact, we’re so proud of them, we want everyone to know more about who they are and how their business fits in to the Expo’s passion for seeing Ottawa the healthiest city in Canada. We recently sent our vendors a list of four questions. Between now and the Expo, we will be highlighting some of these amazing vendors. Watch our blog every Tuesday & Saturday morning for another vendor spotlight.
In this post, we’re spotlighting Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics and the owner, Trudy Albert.
Who are you?
I am 47, love to dance and enjoy food a little too much. I have 2 beautiful daughters who have grown up to become loving and responsible women that I am so proud of. I have a 6 year old grandson who owns my heart completely. When my daughters were younger, I became a single mom and decided I needed to close my esthetics salon and take a government job to have the hours, security and benefits that come with it. I now work full time for the Library of Parliament as Senior Planning Advisor, preparing their business plans and annual reports to Parliament. I kept up my passion for esthetics over the years by working part-time at it, and once my daughters moved from home I dedicated more time to building the esthetics business back up through offering mobile services. My daughters also both work with me as nail technicians today, aside from their full time work. It’s great that it gives us time to spend together. Needless to say, my time is quite full and I make it a point to enjoy any down time with long walks and music, or a romantic comedy and a great glass of wine.
How long have you been in business?
I have been in the beauty business for over 25 years, starting out as a professional make-up artist 1987 and expanding on that in 1989 when I became a professional esthetician. I have a real passion for what I do and believe in bringing a feeling of well-being to others. Having run a salon for a number of years, I turned my focus to providing in-home services to those who may find it difficult to get around or simply prefer the convenience to having spa style treatments come right to their door. With aging family members and many other friends and family members having gone through periods of convalescence, I felt it was important that they have someone they could trust to bring quality care into their homes. The demand for in-home services quickly increased and today we have built up a team of seven highly qualified and dedicated technicians and therapists.
What is your business all about?
It’s not just about bringing beauty to everyone in the Ottawa/Gatineau region for Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics, it’s also about convenience, quality of service, and well being. Trudy Albert and her bilingual team of bilingual professional are on a mission. All keenly aware of the demands and restrictions of today’s world, they are dedicated to bringing their impeccable care and spa services straight to your doorstep. We bring the day spa to you!
In the intimacy of your own home, technicians re-create every detail of a day spa where you can bask in the attention of a manicure, pedicure, facial, massage therapy, make-up application, eyebrow shaping and tinting, as well as waxing (facial hair). Trudy and her team not only apply their personal and gentle touch to individuals at home, they also do Spa Parties for groups of up to sixteen, bringing their professional services and attention of each of the spa stations set up to service everyone with care. Imagine enjoying an unforgettable afternoon or evening where you and your friends can treat yourselves to some well deserved pampering and relaxation right in your own home. Snack, mingle, laugh and sip on your favourite beverages as you get pampered. Spa Parties are great for birthdays, showers, bachelorette parties, wedding parties, reunions, fundraisers and staff appreciation days.
With a complete understanding that looking good and feeling good is crucial to well being, Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics has not forgotten those in the nursing homes, hospitals, rest homes and retirement homes of Ottawa and Gatineau. Beauty, as Trudy and her team points out, is eternal – “we just like to spread it as far and wide as we can. Particularly when we service those who aren’t as mobile as they’d like to be, they really appreciate that we bring our pampering and care to them, and we get great satisfaction in return.”
The Expo focuses on four themes: be fit, eat right, think well, go green. Which of these does your business incorporate?
Think well. As mentioned above, looking good and feeling good is crucial to well being because no matter what age we are, a little pampering goes a long way in lifting our spirits. It can help us relax, relieve stress and strain. Massage can reduce stress, ease tension, relieve aches and pains, improve circulation, strengthen connective tissues, improve mental alertness, promote more restful sleep and strengthen the immune system.
In homes services add to the feeling of relaxation by allowing you to be in the most private and comfortable environment you know… your home. No need to deal with traffic, parking, weather or the uncomfortable feeling of sharing “spa space” with strangers – particularly during a special, personal milestone such as a birthday or an anniversary.
